An Ethical Planet

The way we do things is really important to us here on Planet Frugi. You see, we believe that you can run a successful business without compromising your ethics. And that's what Frugi's all about (as well as fab clothes, of course!)

Organic Cotton

ORGANIC COTTON

All our clothes are made from certified organic cotton which is heaps better for the fields, farmers, factory workers and for your little ones.

Basically, organic cotton is much better than conventional cotton because there are no harmful chemicals or pesticides involved. We've found that a lot of people don't really understand what organic cotton is all about, if you're one of them you can read our why organic cotton article to find out more.

ETHICALLY MANUFACTURED

Making sure that the farmers' and factory workers' get a fair deal is something that is really important to us. You can rest assured that our Frugi clothes are made by adults on a fair salary, and the organic cotton is grown by farmers who receive a fair price for their crops.

Everybody gets looked after really well, and we know this because we visit them. It's a great thing for us to be able to meet the farmers and their families, and hang out with the Frugi tailors at the factory enjoying a cup of chai tea during break time! They're all such wonderful people, and it gives us a nice warm fuzzy feeling inside to know that they're getting a good deal :)

CHARITY SUPPORT

We give 1% of our turnover to two fantastic charities through our membership of 1% for the Planet. It's a brilliant scheme and we're really proud to be a member.

We've had a long discussion with our customers recently about whether to pay to use recognisable fair trade and organic stamps on our products (we already meet the necessary criteria) or to continue supporting these guys. We chose 1% for the Planet! You can read the full discussions on our Frugi Facebook.

Frugi & The Nabvharat Orphanage

Last year we held a sample sale here in sunny Cornwall...and all the fab people who came helped us raise over £2000 to donate to an orphanage in India.

The money we donated has mainly gone towards education, but the orphanage manager, Stella, also has plans to get some new cots and play equipment.

We'll be continuing to support the orphanage this year, so we'll keep you up to date with all the latest news!
