A shiny award, a tenth birthday, a Royal birthday and some very special people…

Here at Frugi we’re not exactly the shy and retiring type, so when we heard that we’d won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise (for International trade), we were so incredibly delighted that we shouted it from the roof tops. You may well have heard?!

Time has marched on since the announcement and yesterday was the big day for Lucy and Kurt’s trip to The Palace. As you can imagine, they had a rather smashing time (luckily not literally – Kurt was on best behaviour!). On their visit they took a special gift; a Prince George & the Dragon t-shirt for Prince George’s first birthday.

The t-shirt was a limited edition piece and was one of only 60. Which means there are 59 left. But we decided that we didn’t want to sell them, instead we wanted to use them for super special things. One of the most special is this; a raffle (well, six raffles actually!) in aid of the quite simply amazing Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Other than the obviously fantastic reasons to support this charity, it’s particularly close to our hearts. You may know that back in our not too past history, we ran Frugi from a lovely Organic farm ‘Gear Farm’. Two children from Gear Farm have had new hearts and their lives saved, due to the bravery and generosity of other families who have donated in the most difficult of circumstances and one of the best transplant teams in the world at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Crikey, what better reasons to dash over to justgiving.com/teams/Frugi-raffle, make a donation to Great Ormond Street Hospital and be entered into the raffle as a thank you from us.

I met some friends of yours at Bristol Children’s Hospital last year on the Cardiac ward, when my four month old daughter was recovering from her VSD closure. They were lovely and even bought me a sandwich so I wouldn’t have to go hungry when I wouldn’t leave her.

Fabulous to hear they are doing well, and that you are paying forward the happiness. 🙂
