Recently a few members of the Frugi team packed up their tents, rolled up their sleeping bags and went on a quest to get the Frugi name out far and wide amongst the foodie fanatics and musical enthusiasts of The Big Feastival, hosted by Jamie Oliver and Alex James on his farm in Oxfordshire.
The three girls Emma, Meg and Lisa and our marketing and sales director Robin arrived to set-up our stand with oodles of excitement and hunger, for food and for Frugi awareness, but mainly for the food!
The first evening saw the team head off to a local pub for a yummy meal and a chill out before the onslaught of the next day. As the evening drew to a close they soon realised that they had yet to blow up their inflatable mattresses, so as the plates and glasses were cleared, their mattresses took precedence on the table in the middle of the restaurant! Much to the amusement of the other diners, they became a bit of a spectacle, phones came out and pictures were taken of our bizarre Frugi team!
The first day of Feastival the Frugi stand was bustling as the team introduced Frugi to so many people and greeted our fans with brand new stock from our Autumn/Winter collection as well as hosting a special Feastival sale for everyone to take advantage of!
There were so many talented musicians and bands playing, picking who to see was tough. Robin was pretty eager to see band in particular though, Stornoway, and boy did the rest of the team know it…he sang one line from a song over and over…and over! Luckily, Brian the guitarist’s mum didn’t hear him when she popped in to the stall and bought his new baby a little Frugi gift.
Their excitement grew further as Emma pushed enthusiastically (and politely!) through the crowds and got to meet Alex James and you can only imagine her excitement all got a bit much when she realised his son was wearing one of our tops!
Emma did try to be cheeky and get Alex to pose with one of our masks but (for some reason!?) he wasn’t as excited about them as the children at the festival, so she settled for this one.
A competition was run to stir-up some fun with the children (and to test our own team’s creative skills) at our stall. We had bean bags and a table with colouring-in sheets galore as kids added colour to our own Daisy and Colin cows whilst Mum’s and Dad’s browsed without distraction. The winner, Ellie Rose, we chose in a random draw and is now enjoying a fab Microscooter and Frugi goodies! Whoopee!
There were so many amazing people there with their fab kids! We got to meet some of them who excitedly tried our cut-out masks of our favourite Frugi characters for some frugifaces pics! Check them out below or on Pionterest here
There was so much delicious food the team fully immersed themselves in the name of Frugi! With food ranging from Paella to Pizza, Mexican to Japanese it’s a wonder the team didn’t come back to Cornwall the size of a house! I think we know which festival we’ll be seen at next year…..
