Behind the scenes of our SS18 photoshoot

A day in the life of the Frugi PHOTOGRAPHY TEAM!

We grabbed 5 minutes with our photography girls; Genna and Beth to find out what they got up to whilst shooting our latest spring collection…
From eating ice-cream in the jungle to creating tricky props; there’s never a dull moment on a Frugi photoshoot!

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TREBAH GARDENS FOR THE SS18 GLOBETROTTER PHOTOSHOOT AND VIDEO FILMING?

Trebah’s stunning sub-tropical location with a coastal backdrop was perfect for the theme and the kids loved being there. We also travelled further across Cornwall to beautiful beaches.

HOW DID THE SS18 COLLECTION RELATE TO THE SHOOT LOCATION?

We wanted to find a special location that reflected the characters and prints of the SS18 collection. Gorillas in the jungle (Trebah Garden), Camels in the desert (Perranporth Dunes) and tropical fish on a desert island (Carbis Bay).

WHAT DID YOU ENJOY ABOUT THE VIDEO SHOOT?

It’s great having a videographer on shoot with us, they always capture the energy of the day

and extra special moments.

HOW MANY PHOTOS WERE TAKEN IN TOTAL?

17,406 photos were taken!

HOW MANY ICE-CREAMS WERE EATEN?

15, you’ve got to keep everybody happy! (children and staff!)

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PIECE FROM THE COLLECTION AND WHY?

I love the Cara Embroidered Culotte Dungarees, especially when layered with a Louise Striped Top. It’s a cool style for older girls, but they’re also fun and playful.

HOW WAS THE WEATHER ON THE SHOOT?

In traditional Cornish style, we were rained off the first two planned days! After that though we had gorgeous springtime sunshine (which came with a bit of drizzle obviously!).

WHAT WAS THE MOST CHALLENGING THING ABOUT THE SHOOT?

Creating a hammock scene on the beach. The final shot looks great, but what you can’t see is three Frugi helpers holding up the hammock in one hand and palm leaves in the other!
