Here at Frugi we want to help raise the next generation of eco-warriors to change the world!
This makes the Eco-Schools programme, the largest educational programme in the world, the ideal partner for us! We both share the same goals and ambitions and we are really excited to be supporting children’s education on sustainable and environmental issues, empowering kids to change our world for the better!

About Eco schools
Eco-Schools was introduced in 1994 in England as a response to the 1992 UN Rio Earth Summit. It now runs across 67 countries with more than 1,000 English schools proudly flying the internationally recognised Green Flag Award.
It is operated globally by the Foundation for Environmental Education and is managed in England by Keep Britain Tidy.
Keep Britain Tidy is a charity and it is free to register on the Eco-Schools programme. Once registered, schools gain access to free Eco-Schools resources that help them meet the international Seven Step criteria.
A fee of £200 (+VAT) is charged to cover the cost of an assessor visit once the programme has been completed and the Green Flag/certification schools received.
Eco-schools follow a Seven Step programme that culminates in achieving an international Eco-Schools Green Flag certification.

This year with the help of our customers we are committed to funding the Eco-Schools Green Flag fees for 150 schools in England!
From Early Years Foundation (3-5), Primary Schools (5-11) all the way through to Secondary and Further Education (12-18)
The Eco-Schools Programme is pupil-led, involving hands-on learning that gets the whole school and the wider community involved in exciting environmental projects.
We'll be working with Eco-Schools to pinpoint regions in England where there are schools in disadvantaged areas or schools that focus on SEN. Children at these schools may have not been given the opportunity to be on an Eco committee before and we feel that every child should be given the chance to become a mini Eco warrior!
If you think your children’s school would be interested in becoming an Eco-School, why not use the downloadable letter template here and encourage them to find out how.

Sue Dodds, Eco-Schools Coordinator says;
"My advice to anyone considering going for the Eco-Schools Green Flag is, DO IT! Your school is probably already doing many good things environmentally anyway, and the process, we found, has informed many of our decisions around school, improvements such as having solar panels fitted to our roof, and choosing a more eco friendly waste disposal company. In addition the pupils have enjoyed and learned a great deal through our involvement with Eco-Schools and it has brought us all, staff and students, a better awareness of how we can help improve our corner of the world!"
To kick off our awesome partnership we have a ’10-day challenge’ as part of the hugely successful #EcoSchoolsAtHome campaign which was launched during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Each day Frugi and Eco-Schools are launching a new challenge around one of the Eco-Schools topics:
Biodiversity, Energy, Global Citizenship, Healthy Living, Litter, Marine, School Grounds, Transport, Waste and Water.
