Ringing in the New Year has always encouraged many of us to not only celebrate a new beginning, but to take a moment to step outside of our day-to-day routines to reflect on the year gone by - to look back, assess how we did and resolve to do better.
We understand New Years Resolutions aren't for everyone, (no "new year, new me" here!) but the coming of 2021 can be an opportunity to consider how we can nurture ourselves and those around us by continuing to create happiness and wellbeing in our lives.
This could be by choosing to do more of the activities that nourish you and your family to make you all feel healthier, energised and full of joy in the coming year! Or it could be choosing to slow down and be more present amongst the hustle and bustle of everyday life... why not give our 5 Frugi Minutes activity a go!
However your New Year looks, we hope it's a good one full of health and happiness!
To help us take some time to reflect, we called on our friend, Lee, who is an Education Consultant with a passion for teaching mindfulness to kids, and she's helped us create some super fun tasks for our 5 Frugi Minutes mindfulness challenge!
"Many of us live our lives rushing through the day, blink and it’s the end of the week, the month, the year. Life is happening, but we may not notice it due to everything else that is going on in our busy lives.
Mindfulness has many definitions, put simply it means being more aware of what is going on around us and learning from what we find. To do this we need to pay full attention to all our senses rather than getting swept up in life and the usual routine.
These Flash Cards feature fun but simple mindful practices that children of all ages can do!
Young children are natural mindfulness experts: they see and hear everything, they don’t take themselves too seriously and they are spontaneous; maybe as adults we should be more like them!"
