New Frugi Bloom Collection Out Now!

Sustainable style from Bump to Breastfeeding and Beyond! Designed and crafted for every stage of the journey to Motherhood, from everyday ‘love-to-wear’ styles through to seasonal workwear, weekend getaway outfits and occasion wear. The NEW Frugi Bloom collection is full of wardrobe essentials to get you ready for the fast approaching Spring/Summer months!

Made from super soft 100% GOTS certified organic cotton, sustainable and recycled fibres and packed full of clever details and hidden features, the Frugi Bloom collection is a staple throughout pregnancy and beyond. You'll find maternity specific fits and relaxed styling, as well as easy access layers and hidden panels ready for breastfeeding. As well as new styles, we're also introducing a couple of new fabrics to the Frugi Bloom collection this season: Tencel Jersey and Recycled Polyester Georgette.

Our new Tencel Jersey is certified by the internationally renowned Lenzing Group and is made from wood sourced from sustainably managed forests. Produced in a closed loop process which transforms wood into fibres, Tencel is biodegradable, just like our GOTS organic cotton! The perfect layering piece, our new Long Waterfall Cardigan is a maternity wardrobe essential for during your pregnancy and a perfect style that can be used as a comfy nursing cover when breastfeeding! We've incorporated Tencel into the collection with the Long Waterfall Cardigan as it is strong, soft on the skin and has beautiful draping qualities which are perfect for womenswear.

Our new Recycled Polyester Georgette is created using post-consumer waste such as water bottles. Recycled Polyester threads are woven into a delicate Georgette fabric which is perfect for occasion wear. Semi-sheer and lightweight, Georgette ensures that our occasion styles have a beautiful flowing feel, creating easy to wear styles with drape and movement. Some of our favourite sustainable styles include the Celeste Dress and Great Georgette Shirt, which both feature a breathable Tencel lining made from the natural fibres, making it oh-so-soft and gentle on the skin under the floaty Georgette fabric.

Testing out the Frugi Bloom Maternity styles: Marta Tansey

Hi Marta, please tell us a little about yourself…

Hi, my name's Marta and I'm a mother, wife and photographer based in Dorset. Me and my husband opened our photography company, Tansey Photography, 5 years ago and both share a passion for film making, photography and travel. We have a beautiful son Jason, who's 4 years old, and one more baby on the way!

What items are you reviewing for us and the size?
I received the Rico Wrap Dress, Erin Dress and Katie Knitted Dress all in a size 8.

Do they fit nicely?
Yes, the fit is great! They're exactly how I would expect a size 8 dress to fit me, before I was pregnant.

Do they feel comfortable to wear?
The material is really light and has a bit of a stretch to it, so it makes it really comfortable to wear all day.

Do you like the look and feel of the dresses you've tried?
I love the look of the dresses. They have the classic bright and colourful Frugi look and feel, but with a more grown up style. I always like the soft feel of the cotton, on both the dresses and on Jason's clothes as well. I love the fact that the material is organic!

Do they make you feel good while pregnant?
They're very comfortable and fit nicely around my bump. It's great to have some stylish-looking, casual maternity dresses that make you look and feel amazing!

Would you recommend these items to your friends?
Yes, absolutely! I love the fact that these dresses can be worn once you give birth as well!

Any other comments?
We love Frugi and the beautiful clothes they make. The customer service is excellent and we always enjoy seeing the new collections when they're released!

Tried and tested for breastfeeding: Shell and the Littlies

Hi Shell, please tell us a little about yourself…

I’m Shell a content creator and photographer, but my favourite and full-time job is being mother of my three children. We live by the sea in beautiful Cornwall where we as a family enjoy the outdoor lifestyle. It’s lovely to be able to work around my family, although being freelance means no maternity leave so my days are a juggle between work and the kids, especially now I’m home-schooling too!

Why do you choose Frugi Bloom over other Maternity and Breastfeeding wear brands?

I love Frugi as not only is it a local Cornish brand, but they offer fun prints and colours along with comfort for myself and the kids. We love how some of the prints run through the collections meaning we can twin! I’ve found such a gap in the market for stylish breastfeeding clothes but, the Frugi Bloom collection allows me to have clothes that are stylish and feel comfortable wearing whilst breastfeeding.

Do the styles you’ve tried and tested make you feel good?

As a mother of three children I like to feel comfortable but still feel like me. Something I feel is really important is wearing clothes that I feel good in, especially over the last few months postpartum and home-schooling I’ve noticed that making the effort to get dressed keeps me feeling positive and productive for the day ahead.

Which styles did you try and what did you like about them?

I love the Rico Wrap Dress as it’s so soft! I’m wearing a size 8 and love how the dress ties at the waist so you can adjust it which would have been perfect for my pregnancy too. It’s a dress that I will wear throughout the seasons just by adding the Long Waterfall Cardigan it keeps me cosy.

The Georgette Shirt will be a staple in my wardrobe throughout my breastfeeding journey and beyond. Again I’m wearing a size 8 which is a lovely loose fit. It’s light and floaty and comes with an inner vest that’s supportive. Another reason I love this shirt is the fact it’s made from Frugi’s new lightweight and sustainable Georgette fabric. I’ve teamed it with their black Roll Top Yoga Pants which literally go with everything and are so comfortable made from 95% GOTS certified Organic Cotton Jersey.

Does the breastfeeding function of the styles work for you? Are they comfortable to feed in?

The Frugi Bloom night wear are by far the best pyjamas I’ve had for breastfeeding. The Henley PJ Top has an extra-long popper opening on the front for easy access when breastfeeding which helps keeps me cosy during night time feeds.

Would you recommend the collection to your friends?

I’ll definitely be recommending the Frugi Bloom collection to all my Mum friends and followers on my Instagram @shellandthelittlies

Frugi Bloom, perfect for pregnancy, breastfeeding and BEYOND: Kachi

Hi Kachi, please tell us a little about yourself!

My name is Kachi and I'm a mum of two boys! My first son is almost three and a half and my second is 10 months (yes born in 2020 in the thick of lockdown!). They keep my husband and I on our toes all the time. I'm a lawyer and I work in technology advising on some exciting start-ups and innovation. I'm also the Founder of TheUpWomen, a platform and membership community creating space for ambitious women to advance their careers and businesses. When I'm not working or hanging with the family, I enjoy reading a good book, writing, catching up on sleep, and cooking (preferably without the cleaning after!).

Which of the Frugi Bloom styles are you reviewing for us?

I'm reviewing the Rico Wrap Dress, the Pansy PJ Bottoms, Henley PJ Top, the Emily Jumper, and the Roll Top Yoga Pants, all in size 10.

Do they fit nicely?

The items fit very well. I definitely had no issues around the sizing, or the cut. I loved the feel of all the items. As someone who is somewhat in between sizes post baby and with all the extra "lockdown weight", I felt good in these clothes, and they've been on rotation since I got them - from work zoom calls to nursing or heading out for a walk, they're very functional!

Are they comfortable when you're wearing them?

Absolutely. I'm such a believer in comfortable clothing and even more so when nursing a baby. All of the items were super comfortable and I could easily feed my little boy at any time of the day.

Would you recommend Frugi Bloom to your friends?

I definitely would! The leggings are super comfy and probably one that pregnant women need for that transition from bump to baby. The jumper is super cute and can be styled in different ways. When it comes to feeding, we know wrap dresses are essential too!

Do you have any other comments on the collection?

I quite like an opportunity to match with my kids, so I definitely love and welcome the mummy and me prints for my PJs and my son's baby grow.
