Junior Merchandiser

Ecommerce Trading Manager
Junior Merchandiser
Reports to: Merchandiser
Purpose: The Junior Merchandiser will work closely with the Merchandiser, supported by the Assistant Merchandiser, to prepare and analyse the commercial data required for range planning, consumer and trade buying, and in-season trading.
This role is designed to develop strong commercial and analytical capability, supporting trading and buying decisions across the business. All final trading, buying and stock decisions are made in partnership with, and signed off by, the Merchandiser.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting & Analysis
Prepare, update and maintain core trading, stock and sales reports for the Merchandiser and wider business, ensuring accuracy, relevance and data integrity.
Assess data to validate accuracy and relevance, highlighting anomalies or risks.
Analyse performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, summarising insights to support commercial decision-making.
Set up and maintain product-level analysis attributes to enable effective reporting.
Support the Merchandiser with weekly (Monday) sales and stock reporting.
Own the preparation and weekly update of stock and sales reports, working with the Merchandiser to interpret performance and agree actions.
Prepare Consumer and Consignment sales reports, building ongoing analysis of performance and distributing insights to the wider business.
In-Season Trading
Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis to support in-season trading decisions across Consumer, Trade and Consignment channels.
Work closely with Ecommerce and Marketing teams to support price changes, product status updates and promotional activity.
Support the Merchandiser in building off-price trade packages.
Be proactive in analysing performance and suggesting gender and category-level ranges for promotional activity and markdown, with guidance and sign-off from the Merchandiser.
Actively propose trading actions, including markdown and promotional suggestions, supported by performance analysis and aligned with commercial objectives.
Work alongside the Merchandising team to ensure the accuracy of data within MNP.
Regularly review stock and sales performance across all channels, escalating risks and opportunities to the Merchandiser in a timely manner.
Range Planning
Prepare seasonal option plans by category, age and gender, monitoring progress against plan throughout the range build process.
Support the Merchandiser in the development of seasonal range plans.
Provide trend and historical performance analysis, including seasonal best sellers, to support Buying and Design teams in making informed decisions.
Work with the Merchandiser, Buying Team and Trade Sales Manager to support seasonal buy quantity decisions, using trade best sellers, historical sales performance and sell-through as guidance.
Support in-season monitoring of spend against OTB, highlighting risks and opportunities and proposing adjustments where appropriate.
Build and maintain PO templates to support the Buying team in placing seasonal supplier purchase orders.
Prepare size ratio recommendations for Consumer, Trade and Consignment purchases (including additional in-season and pre-order requirements), based on historical performance and channel behaviour.
Ad-Hoc & Operational Support
Maintain and improve reporting data sources to support routine and ad-hoc analysis, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
Support the set-up of new product codes, descriptions and barcodes in agreed formats.
Provide cover for the Assistant Merchandiser when required, including sales reporting, stock management, booking deliveries and replenishment support.

Buyer / Senior Buyer (Maternity Leave Cover - 12 Months)
Reports to: Head of Product
Purpose: As Buyer / Senior Buyer you will be responsible for developing, sourcing and delivering a sustainable, profitable and commercial range, which will be delivered on time to meet the requirements of the business.
You will support the Head of Product in the development and delivery of the department Strategy, whilst maintaining strong, professional relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and service.
Strategy & Range Building
- Develop a clear understanding of the Celtic & Co customer, working alongside Design to actively develop and deliver the brand handwriting.
- Working alongside key functions and team members, create a range strategy taking into account supply base, quality, sales performance and overall business strategy
- Constantly review and evaluate range performance to inform future decisions and influence departmental strategy
- Deliver clear competitor analysis, presenting regular feedback to the business, utilising any learnings to assist in your own range build
- Contribute towards seasonal and annual reviews
- Work closely with Merchandising on range planning and building to ensure necessary reporting is delivered in support of range and department decisions
- Ensure profit/ margin targets are adhered to, in line with strategic plans
Range Ambassador
- Establish and implement best practices across the business and confidently present product ranges at seasonal overviews, conveying product and range key selling points, as well as providing product information for key documents like seasonal trackers etc.
- Have an open and positive approach, encouraging cross function collaboration.
Supplier Management
- Have strong negotiation and relationship skills, delivering the best price without compromising on design, quality or delivery.
- Cultivate opportunities with suppliers, ensuring that a product sourcing strategy is in place which maximises margin and an agile supply chain.
- Be able to confidently challenge suppliers on lead times and prices to ensure suppliers remain proactive.
- Confidently identify and carry out costing exercises (with support of (INSERTS ELLAS NEW TITLE) across supply base to ensure best prices and production routes are utilised across range
- Assist the Head of department when introducing new suppliers, in negotiation and agreement of payment terms and contracts.
- Coordinate and administer noncompliance issues and negotiate penalty settlements
- Oversee relationships with 3rd party providers (including packaging suppliers) to ensure best prices and quality are achieved.
Critical Path Management
- Working alongside the head of department, plan a departmental critical path, feeding into overall company critical path, updating when necessary
- Ensure trackers and systems are correct and maintained
- Work closely with the technical team on the garment fit process
- Oversee product critical path to manage product status, identifying and communicating any potential issues and coordinating solutions
Managing a team
- Be a positive role model to others, being consistently self-motivated and able to motivate others around you.
- Conduct regular 1-2-1 meetings and annual Personal Development Planโs (PDP) to monitor and evaluate individual performance, offering constructive feedback and tailored development plans to encourage continuous personal development and growth.
General responsibilities
- Travel oversees when required, both within and outside of Europe
- Travel to industry events or business events where applicable.
- Participate in all mandatory training events, as deemed appropriate for your role or for the company.
- Undertake ad hoc assignments from time to time and other duties as requested by management.
- Understand and ensure the full observation of your contract of employment, the companies operating procedures and policies and its health and safety obligations.
Candidate
- Working to at least Buyer level, with a proven track record of developing and trading Womenโs clothing ranges that exceed sales and profit targets
- Deep understanding of fabric, garment construction, range building and the whole buying process
- Experience in dealing with and negotiating with suppliers to secure the best value, cost prices and deliveries

Ecommerce Trading Manager
About the Role We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Ecommerce Trading Manager to lead the online trading performance across our group of purpose-led fashion brands.

You will lead the eCommerce trading team to ensure every digital channel is performing to its full potential — from launch planning and conversion optimisation to promotional execution and trading insight.
Key Responsibilities
Trading & Commercial Performance
Lead group eCommerce trading strategy, driving sales, profit, and growth across all brands.
Oversee daily and weekly performance, ensuring sales, AOV, and margin targets are met.
Plan and execute trading calendars, promotions, and launches with brand and merchandising teams.
Work closely with the merchandising team on stock and pricing to maximise availability and protect brand integrity.
Optimise DTC and third-party channels for performance and profitability.
Drive global trading strategies, tailoring creative and communications to each market.
Customer Experience & Optimisation
Champion continuous improvement in CRO, UX, and on-site merchandising.
Ensure storytelling and product presentation reflect each brand authentically.
Partner with tech and ops to maintain seamless site performance.
Use data and insights to enhance conversion, engagement, and retention.
Work with the brand ecommerce teams to develop SEO strategy, across traditional search engines and AI platforms.
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and develop a high-performing trading team across brands.
Align with Marketing, CRM, Merchandising, Product and Performance teams to connect traffic and conversion goals.
Drive collaboration and continuous improvement across all eCommerce functions.
Reporting & Insight
Own trading reports and dashboards, translating data into actionable growth plans.
Share digital retail insights and trends to guide innovation and strategy.
Skills & Experience
Proven success in senior online trading or commercial roles.
Strong fashion retail background, ideally within premium or sustainable brands.
Experience managing multi-brand or multi-site operations.
Advanced analytical skills with GA4 and trading dashboards.
Hands-on experience with Shopify Plus or similar eCommerce platforms.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
