The Story of Frugi Lucy and Kurt 2004

Frugi was born. Or rather, ’Cut4cloth’ was born, as that was our name back then. Frugi started life as a ‘Eureka’ moment when founders Lucy and Kurt struggled to find clothing to fit over their son’s cloth-nappied bum.

Frugi Founded in 2008

2008 saw us change our name to ‘Frugi’ – meaning ‘Fruits of the Earth’ in Latin. Our collection grew to include gorgeous clothing for older children and a fab range of breastfeeding wear for mums.

Purpose built Frugi HQ in Helston

Our team had grown to 16 members and we all moved into our lovely, purpose built HQ in Helston Cornwall.

‘Queen’s Award for Enterprise’ - Frugi 2014

On our 10th birthday, we received the ‘Queen’s Award for Enterprise’ and went to Buckingham Palace to meet Her Majesty.

The Sunday Times ‘Ones to Watch’ - Frugi 2014

Frugi was delighted to be included in The Sunday Times ‘Ones to Watch’ list as part of its annual Virgin Fast Track 100 table. This ranks Britain’s 100 private companies with the fastest-growing sales over the last three years.

We are still growing fast and expanding our product range. Our team now numbers over 80 people working at our HQ in Cornwall, and across the UK and Europe. We also relocated and expanded our Frugi shop!
